About The Event
Topic: Lowering Learning Barriers for Minority Children—through multilingual education
Speaker: Pearle*
If you have a passion for education, how can you be involved in God’s mission?
Children from minority language communities often face learning difficulties because they do not understand or speak the language used in the classroom. How can their own language and culture be turned from a stumbling block to a stepping stone to help them integrate into the mainstream education system?
Pearle* has been involved in supporting local partners in developing and implementing multilingual education programmes for minority language communities in remote areas. Come hear her share her experiences, and understand how to help minority students. You will also get to do a hands-on activity, to give you a taste of the work.

About the speaker:
Pearle has been a Wycliffe Singapore member since 2013. She served the minority language communities through literacy and education programmes for 7 years before taking up a regional coordination role.
